WORKSHOPS

Discerning God’s Will For My Life

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2)

Can we really make sense of what the will of God is? How does God's will of decree defer from His will of command, and how are the differences revealed to us through Scripture? Most importantly, how should such new-found knowledge change the way we live our lives? What does scripture tell us about the will of God and how it should interact with our lives. At this juncture, where opportunities (and cross-roads) abound, how can this aid me in my decision-making? Come and hear the experiences of your seniors, who have walked the very journey that you're about to embark on.

Engaging the Intellectual

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere! But what if along the way you are stumped by a question you can’t answer? Do you struggle with explaining the difference between the economic and ontological trinity to a non-believer? Is there a burden on your heart for a friend, but you’re unsure of how to breach this intellectual barrier? No idea what that is? This workshop will equip you with necessary skills and knowledge in bridging this barrier to individuals concerned with objective truths and spreading God’s word in order to expand His Kingdom.

Inter-denominational Understanding

“Today, hundreds of denominations exist in the name of Christianity, claiming to be Christian. They are divided and contradict one another…… Such a situation clearly constitutes division, not unity.” - David E. Pratte

If we are all one body in Christ, why do different denominations exist, and what are their doctrinal differences all about? Are these differences dividing the Church, and how do we reconcile these differences? VCF is an inter-denominational organisation that caters to all Christians, regardless of differences in practices and doctrines. Come and understand what makes each denomination unique, and learn what the cornerstones of the faith are that unite us as a single body in Christ despite our differences!

God In A World of Pain and Suffering

If God is a good God why does suffering exist? War and famine are prevalent in many countries, with tragedies such as the Khmer Rouge and the Nanking Massacre, one might stop to consider how all these is possible if God is a good God, and where exactly was He when all these were happening? If you find yourself asking these questions, come seek answers in this workshop as we explore if God is truly a good God, the origins of sin, whether God allows suffering and whether He intervenes. And most importantly, how we should respond in times of suffering and doubt of our great God.

God & Creation + Science

The theory of evolution gives us one explanation of how the world and us humans came to be, but so does the Bible. As Christians we are taught that the Word of God is the truth, so does that mean that Science and all the scientists who have worked to prove their theories are wrong? This workshop aims to explore what some of these scientific theories are, what the Bible says about Creation, and whether the two can be reconciled or complement each other. The following areas will also be covered:

How do we account for scientific evidence using theology?

What do Creationists believe in?
